Chosen at Nightfall by CC Hunter review plus exclusive book trailers!

**4.5 Stars**
Chosen at Nightfall is the final installment of the Shadow Falls series. I was so excited and sad at the same time. Excited to find out where Kylie ends up in life, sad to say goodbye. I read the book slowly, enjoying each chapter. Once again, CC did not disappoint.

Kylie is a chameleon. She can become any paranormal or human. She has great powers, but is only able to use them as a protector. This time around, it’s Kylie who needs protecting. She has Mario coming after her, and a bloody ghost haunting her to kill an enemy. It was amazing to see all the pieces come together, every loose end tied, and the ending we’ve waited five novels to see!

Kylie has always been a strong character, and she has her best friends, Della and Miranda making sure she’s taken care of. Kylie starts out living with her grandparents, but is stuck between the family she has blood-ties to, and the family she has gained at Shadow Falls. Loyalties are questioned, and tough decisions must be made. Kylie handles them all in great stride.  It’s time for the final battle, our girl has grown up so much the last couple of years, she has realized you must sometimes make large sacrifices in order to save those you love.

The final battle commences, Kylie is learning how to fight, and is ready to protect those important to her at any cost. The actual fight scene played out so well in my head, the descriptions were perfection. I look forward to hearing what others thought of this!

Our protagonist has two boys both ready to fight for her love. Derek is a Fae, who can feel and manipulate emotions, and Lucas, the werewolf from her childhood that has betrayed her. We do get an ending that leaves all satisfied. I was personally Team Lucas, except for book 4, where I switched teams for a few chapters. ;)

The growth between Burnett and Holiday was one of my favorite elements of the entire series. Holiday, the kind fae who has become a strong mother-figure to Kylie. And Burnett, the hot-headed vampire who has a definite soft spot for our chameleon. I was absolutely delighted at the ending with my favorite couple!
My only negative is I won’t get to read anymore from Kylie’s POV. But with that being said, there is more to the series! Della gets her own spinoff! She was my favorite of the friends (Miranda was great as well, but I have a major love of vamps.) We finally get to hear about what Della has done for the FRU, and delve more into her past and family issues. The novella is out on 4/2. Make sure you are all caught up before starting this one though.

Thank you for your stories CC. You are an incredible writer, and I look forward to hearing more from you!
CC Hunter is a pseudo-name for Christie Craig, who is an incredibly talented romance writer. She is one of my favorites, and through her romance novels was actually how I discovered her paranormal.
