Hopeless review

Hopeless
By: Colleen Hoover

**5 Stars**

What is do you call it when it’s not quite love, but more than like? LIVE, that’s what.
“I live you,” I whisper to him.
He kisses my head again and sighs into my hair. “I don’t think I live you back anymore. I’m pretty sure I’ve moved beyond that. Actually, I’m psoituuve I’ve moved beyond that, but I’m still not ready to say it to you. When I say it, I want it to be separate from this day. I don’t want you to remember it like this.”
I pull his hand to my mouth and kiss it softly. “Me, too.”
And once again in my new world full of heartache amd lies, this hopeless boy somehow finds a way to make me smile.

I want to begin by saying, I did not read a synopsis for this story, nothing. I went in completely blind, and I did it on purpose. I wanted to feel every single word, and I did. I have never felt a story as much as I did Hopeless. I still don’t know where to start. So I’m winging it, and hoping I can give at least a glimpse into this work of art. Holden and Sky have a sadly amazing story. Just like all of Colleen’s stories, the plot is not bubblegum, it is the “more” I search for. Right now I wish I was a poet, just so I could find the words to fully express what I feel for Colleen Hoover. I’m not going to lie and say this was the most beautiful story ever written. It wasn’t. It was real, it goes places no other author I’ve ever read have gone, but to be honest with you, no other author could pull it off. I cried the ugliest cry. It was a cry I didn’t even know I had in me anymore. In fact, I’m crying just saying those words. I had to stop reading for a little while and send a message to the author and feel her out (not up) before I could finish. She cheered me up with a little story about an inappropriate unicorn. They’re always such trouble.
“Fuck all the firsts, Sky. The only thing that matters to me with you are the forevers.”
Sky and Holden live in the same neighborhood for 7 years before meeting. Sky was homeschooled with no TV, no internet, cell phones, no technology at all. She’s able to talk her mom into letting her do her senior year of high school at the local school. Holden has a bad reputation, got kicked out last year for beating up a gay boy from class. Sky tries her best to stay away, but how long can she stay away from the dimples she wants to lick?
I can’t give anymore away about the storyline without giving the whole book away. You need to feel it. There is so much lightness in such a dark story. I can’t even put into words what I felt. Colleen Hoover knows how to capture an audience. She deserves the #1 spot on the NYT Bestsellers list. Thank you Colleen, for your story, your sense of humor, and being there for me through the ending.

This quote is unrelated to the story between Holden and Sky, but I loved it in such a special way. This is Breckin. He’s a Mormon… and gay. I wish more of the world could see it so black and white.
“If God’s the type of guy that would damn you to Hell just for loving someone, then I wouldn’t want to spend eternity with Him, anyway.”

Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines

Fallen Too Far

By: Abbi Glines

**easily 4.5 stars**

“Are you… are you going to kiss me again?” I asked breathlessly as he pressed his nose to my neck and inhaled.

“I want to. I want to so fucking bad but I’m trying to be good,” he murmured against my skin.

“Could you not be good for just one kiss? Please.”  I asked, scooting closer to him.

This was Abbi’s first adult-adult book. As in Holy-sex! I have been in a reading funk lately, not fully getting sucked in, and Rush officially took me out of that funk! I was captured within the first chapter. Rush is a rockstar’s son. Moody, sexy, rich, tattoos, everything I look for in a solid lead;) Blaire is a beautiful blonde, sweet, innocent, gun-toting, independent 19 year old. I loved Blaire, she was not whiney or overdramatic, she knew she was out of her element with Rush’s group, and knows how to take care of herself. I have felt such repetition in recent books, Fallen was fresh with an original storyline, and a major twist I did not see coming. And I very, very rarely am surprised by plots.

Blaire has had a tough life, her twin sister died 5 years ago, the trauma from this made her dad leave right after. 3 years ago, Blaire’s mom got cancer and died last month. She had nowhere else to go but to the dad that walked out on her family when they needed him the most. But when she gets there, it’s not her dad that there to greet her. It’s her new step-brother. And man, oh man is he schmexy. Rush allows Blaire to stay at his mansion for one month in the closet-sized maids room. How long can he ignore the gorgeous Blaire? What is the huge secret Rush and the town is keeping from Blaire? And why didn’t I marry a tattooed millionaire?

I really enjoyed Fallen Too far, everybody that knows my reviews knows how much of a picky bitch I am, and I will never give my seal of approval to a book I don’t personally love. This story has me 100%. I was very surprised at the end to find a cliffhanger though, but that was a great surprise, their story has so much more to be told. There are reasons they are both withdrawn, and I cannot wait till March to hear the rest of Rush and Blaire’s story!

Overwhelm Me Blog Tour Book Review!

"My pulse immediately starts racing as the proximity of his sexiness overwhelms me. I put my hands on his shoulders and notice that they so toned.

"By the way, my name is Donovan," he says into my ear as he pulls my body closer to his. I feel a shockwave roll through me and my breathing stops."

Overwhelm Me is the debut novel of A.C. Marchman.

This is the story of two people that run into each other, literally, and the sparks immediately fly. They are caught up in a whirlwind of romance and mind blowing orgasms.

Overwhelm Me has a decent story-line and likable characters. The story itself was fairly fast paced though a few parts were, to me, overly descriptive but I think that is more a personal preference thing rather then an actual flaw in the story telling. I did enjoy the meeting these characters and taking a peek into their lives. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in book 2!

This book will be release 12/31/2012

Bound Together blog tour!

3 STARS

"Falling in love is easy, letting that love go, is hard. But your heart will always have the right answer. You just have to listen to it and figure out what it's telling you."

When I’m reading a new book, I feel like I need to love at least one of the characters. I didn’t feel it In Bound Together. Layla was insensitive, whiny and immature. I had a hard time empathizing with her. It was a love triangle, so two sexy guys to choose from. Oliver was the cliché rockstar. Jared was the cliché possessive millionaire. I know this is the popular story type right now. Everyone loves a good angsty love triangle. But this one just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Layla moves away from home for college, and meets 2 stunning men. One rocker, one rich business man- very 50ish. And it’s over 600 pages of a young girl not being able to make up her mind.  Ollie was the only character I enjoyed. He was sexy, sweet, and loved Layla completely, but it still wasn’t enough to redeem the story. I wanted to love this book, it has an amazing cover, great story basis and hot sex scenes. Jared had a kinky tie-me-up side to him, and our rocker Ollie had a sweet-lover side, that I thoroughly drooled over.  This is a story that will be appealing to a large crowd, but there's more sex than story, and I needed more than steamy hookups and a cliffhanger after investing so much time into a book.
If you're looking for a sexy read with 2 hotties, this would be a good book for you.

An Interview with Vanessa from Stalk Me and an Autographed Copy of Kiss Me GIVEAWAY!!

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule ruling the school, Vanessa. I'll make sure to tweet and Facebook about it when we're through.

When Keatyn was new to the school, did you and RiAnne handpick her to be popular?

I wouldn't say that RiAnne had any part of the decision. I felt that Keatyn and I would get along well and that we would be, by far, the two prettiest girls in our school. Even as an a freshman, I was prepared to make an impact. RiAnne is sweet, but she's a follower.

Are you happy with your decision to take Mandy down the way you did?

Absolutely. It was brilliant. And I don't care what anyone thinks of my tactics. No one-- and I mean, no one-- should be drugged and taken advantage of. If you do that, you are the lamest of lame and probably a total loser like Mandy.

What 5 words would you use to best describe yourself?

Intelligent, beautiful, leader, confident, fashionable.

Next year is senior year! Any big parties planned out yet?

There will always be epic parties. I'm dating a lacrosse player and he lives in a gorgeous home in the Malibu hills. Private. Parents rarely home. Great place to party.

This will never get back to Keaton, I promise. What do you really think of Keatyn?

I think she has was kind of stupid, because she never fully took advantage of all she had. If she did, she might give me a run for my money, but she's too sweet to scheme. It's her downfall, really. She was lucky she had me.

Who is the flavor of the month for you right now? Any progress with Cush yet?

Haven't you heard about Cush? You must be out of the loop. Like I said, I'm dating the hottest lacrosse player. We are now the perfect couple that everyone wishes they could be. Since Keatyn left, my life keeps getting better and better.

What is the word on the street for where Keatyn went, my money's on rehab? ;)

I'm afraid I was sworn to secrecy about that.

Thank you so much for taking time out of your school-reigning schedule to answers questions for Word! Heather and Robin.

The Edge of Never Review

"Be honest with me. Be honest with yourself!" His hands wave outward toward me in gesture. "CAMR-"
"I want you goddammit!" I scream at him. "The thought of you leaving and never seeing you again tears-me-up-inside!" My throat burns like fire. "I can't fucking breathe without you!"
"Say it Son-of-a-bitch," he says, exasperated, "just say it!"
"I want you to own me!" I can hardly stand on my own anymore. Sobs rock my entire body. My eyes sting and my heart hurts like it never has before.

Kindof a long quote, but it feels like the only one that does it justice. I was worried reading the first half of The Edge of Never, everybody raved about it so much, and I don't like it, but it really picked up after about 48%.

Jacob and Camryn are two strangers on a bus for their own reasons. They meet by chance, and take the roadtrip of a lifetime together.

Oh, and I love this cover, I want Camryn's hair super bad. Not really a part of this review, but in general, I don't like faces on covers, I take them too literal, and have a hard time picturing the characters when the cover is ugly, I loved this one and the cover helped:)

CJ Roberts/Caleb interview!!!

I go CJ Roberts to sit down and do a little interview for Word. She is a rockstar. And we love her to death. CITD and SITD are high up on our list of favorites! Enjoy!
First off, thank you for taking a minute to do an interview for us. Your smutty bitches appreciate it.
CJ: Thank you! I appreciate every one of my smutty bitches. LOL!
Where did the inspiration come from for CITD and SITD?
CJ: I’ve answered this question a lot and each time, I think the answer is a little varied. I suppose, in the end, it was a combination of things. I’m a nervous person and often worry about things that are implausible. I was lonely and bored. I often think about my own nature and the nature of others. I have a thing for bad guys. No one was writing the story I wanted to read.
But ultimately, the answer is simply this – I HAD TO WRITE IT! I couldn’t sleep until I started, and for many, many nights until I finally finished.
How long did it take you to write your badass books?
CJ: I started in 2002 and wrote ‘The End’ on July 4th, 2012.
Did you rehearse any naughty scenes with the hubbs?!
CJ: As a writer I attempt to employ all my skills in the creation of my art. LOL!
How is Agent Reed coming along?
CJ: Slowly. I never intended to be a full-time writer. I’ve always loved to write, but I never thought it would be a career. The Dark Duet was a burst of pure inspiration and it was a story I was compelled to tell. I thought I’d quit writing when it was finished, but to be honest, the fans have really inspired me to try and continue to outdo myself and to reach for the next precipice. That takes time, so I’m really trying to dig deep for what I want to accomplish with Reed.
My books have a solid cult following, but mainstream success has been nearly impossible to achieve. I’m hoping to break through with my next novel, while at the same time remaining true to myself and the fans. I would be nowhere without them.
Will you spank me/can I spank you?
CJ: Come to my next book signing and we’ll see. ;)
Why isn't there a picture of you doing something inappropriate to Charlie Hunnam?!
CJ: LMAO! First, my husband was there and he could give two craps about someone being famous if he were to get angry. He takes a lot from me, but I TRY to take it easy on him when possible. Second, I wanted him to take me seriously when I approached him about the books. Like I said, I’m trying to make this shit happen!
Caleb~
Do you miss being a dominant?
Caleb: I’m offended by the question. Next.
How is Livvie doing?
Caleb: Sophia – is fine. I take care of her and while I don’t know too much about these things, I think she’s happy. You should ask her yourself.
What is your favorite position, past and present?
Caleb: The one where I make Sophia beg me to stop making her cum. *smirk* Whatever you might think, I’m still fond of the begging.
Say something naughty to me, please master.
Caleb: I’m not anyone’s master. Not anymore.
Will you spank me/can I spank you (this will be our secret, we don't want CJ to find out I'm cheating on her.)?
Caleb: I know, CJ. She’d find out. Also, you’re out of your mind if you’d presume to spank me and as for me spanking you…well, there’s only one person to have earned the privilege of being spanked by me and I’m fairly certain you aren’t her.
Are we done now? I promised to do this for Sophia, but really.

Seduced in the Dark review!

“For the love of Christ, shut-up! Let a bitch enjoy her mental breakdown in peace.”

**5 AMAZING STARS**
“Once upon a time, Caleb held me captive in the dark, now he used it to seduce me.”
Seduced in the dark is just that, seductive. We start off 4 months after Captive, Livvie is in a psych ward in the US, Dr. Sloan is trying to help her, and sexy Agent Reed is trying to get info out of her about Caleb and his associate Rafiq. We see so much more of the feelings pushing Caleb and his Kitten. There isn't too much that can said without spoiling, so just go read it!

"Agent Reed is close and he isn't prepared when I grab him by the collar of his suit and crash his fucking mouth with mine."

Will we get the HEA we want? Is it possible for Livvie and Caleb to overcome what they've gone through? Will they sacrafice all they know and love to get to the end? Be ready for another mindfuck, this one even better than the first.

“Live for me, Kitten. Be all those things you’d never be with me. Go to school. Meet a normal boy and fall in love. Forget me.”

~Review by Heather

Captive in the Dark Review!

"He was my tormentor and my solace; the creator of the dark and the light within. I didn’t care that he would undoubtedly hurt me at any moment, right now; I just needed somebody to hold me, somebody to be kind to me, somebody to tell me exactly those words. It’s going to be okay. It wasn’t of course, I knew that. But I didn’t care. I needed the lie."

**4.5 STARS.** Where to even begin with Captive in the Dark?! This is going to be a hard one to review. There's no real way to capture this story without it sounding horrible and crazy, it is both of those, but there's something... juat something that makes it incredible.

Caleb and Livvie. Caleb is a sex slave trainer. He is not doing this for joy or pleasure, he is doing this for revenge. He wants vengeance. Livvie is a beatiful and special, Caleb is looking for the perfect girl to trade to get inside the inner circle and take out his enemy. Then it will be done, and Caleb can rest. He kidnaps Livvie and expects it to go like every girl, that is until he realizes she is like no girl he has ever met.

The whole book is amazing, CJ touched on topics that are so dark and twisted, and I spent most of the book trying to figure out how I was falling for such a monster. Will he be redeemable, could Livvie really fall for her captor? Would I earn the right to call my master my name if it were me he kidnapped? I thought I would be able to slowly read this book, but I literally could not put it down, I grocery shopped with my kindle in one hand and the cart in the other. I was glad there was a break between CITD and SITD, I needed that time to let it all sink in. Be ready to be throughly mindfucked.

*This book is dark and touches on tough topics. Not for the faint of heart.*
